Product design

Research, flows and interface, tested with the people who use it

The most expensive design mistake is building the right product for the wrong person. It is rarely visible in the brief, because briefs are written by the people paying rather than the people using.

We start with discovery: interviews with the people who will actually operate the product, a job statement everyone signs off on, and the flows before the screens. On an existing product we start with a paid audit, which gives you a ranked written diagnosis and tells you what to fix if you only fix three things.

Then the interface, built on a design system and tested with real users before anything reaches engineering. Handoff is specified to the point where a developer who was never in the room can build it correctly.

On one engagement the brief named elderly residents as the user. Research showed it was the caregivers on shift, who had no time to type. The product was built for them: engagement rose 60%, and the client's valuation doubled.

what you get
